"Healthy Lifestyles for Children" Information Session
This information session is intended for parents of children between the ages of 4 - 12 who would like to learn more about raising a healthy family and preventing chronic conditions, such as obesity.
FACT - Research indicates that kids spend an average of 40 hours per week (the equivalent of a FULL TIME job!!) in front of screens and only 7 % get the recommended amount of daily exercise. We have designed this session to provide you with a better understanding of what you can do as a parent to assist your child with healthy growth and development.
What will I learn during this Information Session?
This 1.5 hour information session is taught by a Barrie and Community Family Health Team Registered Dietitian. During this session you will learn how to create a healthy lifestyle for your family.
Some of the topics covered are:
- The effects of physical activity and screen time on your childs health.
- How to get your kids to eat well but not too much.

The Registered Dietitian will also provide some time for discussion and questions.
