Finding a Family Physician

If you do not have a Family Physician, you can register with a service provided by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care called "Health Care Connect". Health Card Renewal or Replacement

"For local health card renewal or replacement, go in person to ServiceOntario located at 34 Simcoe Street, Suite 102, in Barrie from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For further information you may call 705-726-0326." Please ensure you bring the proper original documentation, you will require proof of citizenship, proof of Residency and Support of Identity. The Government of Ontario has created a website called, "Your Health Care Options". This service helps you find other options and information available about health care services provided in your community. For local information regarding immunization, breast feeding and parenting queries, you may contact the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at 705-721-7520 or toll free at 1-877-721-7520 or visit www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.

Travel Health

For travel information on understanding travel health risks; taking preventative measures before, during and after your travel, visit the Public Health Agency of Canada www.publichealth.gc.ca or the Centres for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) www.cdc.gov.

For travel advice and travel immunization and vaccines, you should make an appointment with your Family Physician. If you do not have a Family Physician, you can visit a local travel clinic.

Travel advice and travel immunization and vaccines are not services covered by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. There is a fee for this service.
