Who We Are
The Mental Health Team provides a range of services to enrolled patients of Family Health Team physicians. Family Physicians, Mental Health Counsellors and Psychiatrists work together to help individuals, couples, and families deal with issues such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Grief and loss
- Relationship problems
Mental Health Services Overview
Our Mental Health Counsellors are qualified professionals who will work with you in a short-term, focused, and confidential manner to find solutions. Most people work with their counsellor for approximately 6-8 sessions. We work collaboratively with your physician to provide care and meet your needs. Family Health Team patients of all ages are referred to the service by their Family Physicianor Nurse Practitioner.
Services include:
- Individual, family, and/or marital counselling
- Psychiatric consultation
- Groups
- Linkages to community resources
Appointment Information
An Intake Assessment appointment will be scheduled upon receipt of your referral. This appointment will provide an opportunity to discuss your needs. The wait time after this appointment before a counsellor is assigned will be based on urgency.
